This documentary film is a journey inside a group of folk musicians from Rajasthan.

SHORT SYNOPSIS
Musafir is a group of folk music gathered musicians from different casts and religions.
Hameed Khan, a tabla player who shares his life between Paris and Jaipur, is constantly searching for the best musicians in Rajasthan. He takes them under his protection and trains them to the « Musafir » repertoire.
Each cast of musicians has its own repertoire, instruments and particular style. Hammed’s role is to harmonize and unite them all.
Musafir means « nomad ». This name holds the whole philosophy of the group : the discovery of others through a journey in which music is the common language.

This movie plunges us into the atmosphere of the group through three main stages : the training session in Jaipur, the discovery of each musician’s lifestyle, and their trip to Europe.

Eine Freundin der Filmemacher, die auch zu dem Thema forscht, wird zur anschließenden Diskussion anwesend sein.
